Born in Baltimore, Maryland, I maintain an active studio practice in northern Baltimore County. As a fourth generation artist, making art is both an inheritance and an essential part of how I see the world.

Working primarily in oil and watercolor, my paintings range from representational to abstracted realism and are often created from life or en plein air. While grounded in observation, my goal is not replication but simplification—to distill what is essential and tell a story. A personal emotional connection unites my work, along with a sustained exploration of perspective and space. Throughout my life, I have sought out visual markers—maps, analog clocks, and elevated vantage points—anything that helps me see both the wider expanse and my place within it.

My paintings begin with that search for context and connection. When I revisit a piece, I remember not only the landscape and light, but also what was unfolding in my life at the time. The work offers perspective and clarity while keeping me grounded in the present. I invite viewers into a similar pause—a moment of stillness and awareness.

For more than two decades, I have shared this commitment to close observation as an art educator. I earned a B.A. in Studio Art and Art History from McDaniel College and hold Art Education Certification from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. My work is informed by regional painters such as Eugene Leake and Herman Maril, as well as J. M. W. Turner, Andrew Wyeth, and Richard Diebenkorn. I am a Signature Member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society and an Associate Member of both the American Impressionist Society and the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association.
